As someone who tends to look very young for my age, I battle the feeling of people taking me seriously professionally. I constantly am told, oh you are so cute, you look 18. And inwardly, I cringe. Let's be real, I am almost 30! The first impression is so powerful and how do I want the world to view me and consequently my brand? The first place I started was with my makeup. I felt, I need someone to gently guide and teach me their ways, no pushy sales pitch. I tend to get stuck in a rut and do the same things, that now I think about it, have been doing since I was probably 18! Help me please. I am really fortunate to have met an amazing artist like Laura Yamasaki. Here is a shameless selfie I took after our time together. What I was so excited about is how minor tweaks make such a huge difference. My brow game is on point ya'll. With a bit more emphasis on brows, and some lipstick, gasp! I suddenly felt elevated. But I never would have taken those steps without the gentle guidance of an unbiased artist. I am not talking about the sales girls at your local Neiman's makeup counter. I am talking, someone who is a real artist, and assesses your face as the blank canvas. Not something to conceal but simply emphasize the positive and just make you feel more well... like you. Can anyone else relate?
